Cookie policy
This Cookie Policy explains how Riffy uses cookies and similar technologies on the website and in related account or checkout flows.
We aim to keep our setup as privacy-friendly as practical. At the same time, some parts of the experience, especially sign-in, security, and payments, may rely on necessary browser storage or cookies.
Riffy is a software product operated by Bogdan Malizhev, FOP.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website or service can place on your browser or device. Similar technologies can include local storage, pixels, SDKs, tags, and session identifiers.
Some cookies last only while your browser session is open, while others remain for a longer period.
2. How Riffy uses cookies and similar technologies
We currently use cookies or similar technologies in a limited way for the purposes described below.
A. Privacy-friendly website analytics
Riffy uses Plausible Analytics to understand general website traffic and improve the site.
In our standard setup, Plausible is intended to work without analytical cookies. This means we use it for aggregated reporting rather than cross-site advertising profiles or cookie-based user tracking.
B. Account, login, and security features
If you create an account, sign in, or use account-protected features, Riffy may use necessary cookies or similar technologies to:
- keep you signed in,
- protect your session,
- verify requests,
- prevent abuse,
- and maintain account security.
These technologies are generally required for account-related features to work properly.
C. Checkout and payment flows
If you purchase Riffy Pro, Paddle acts as the payment provider and merchant of record for the checkout transaction on behalf of the Riffy product. When you enter a Paddle-hosted or Paddle-supported checkout flow, Paddle may use cookies or similar technologies for:
- payment processing,
- fraud prevention,
- transaction security,
- localization,
- and checkout performance.
Those technologies are controlled by Paddle under Paddle’s own terms and privacy practices.
D. Other service providers
From time to time, we may use additional providers that support hosting, security, or service delivery. If those services rely on necessary cookies or similar technologies, we may update this policy to reflect that.
3. Types of cookies we expect to use
Depending on the feature, cookies or similar technologies may fall into these categories:
- Strictly necessary: required for login, session handling, security, and essential website or checkout functionality.
- Functional: used to remember choices or improve the experience when such features are introduced.
- Analytics: currently handled through Plausible’s privacy-friendly, cookie-free standard setup for website measurement.
Riffy does not describe its current website analytics setup as relying on advertising cookies.
4. Your choices
You can usually control cookies through your browser settings. For example, you may be able to:
- block or delete cookies,
- clear stored site data,
- restrict third-party cookies,
- or configure privacy protections in your browser.
Please note that blocking necessary cookies or related storage may cause parts of the site, login flow, or checkout experience to stop working correctly.
5. Third-party services
When you interact with third-party services, such as Paddle checkout, those services may set or access cookies and similar technologies according to their own policies. We encourage you to review the policies of any third-party service you use through Riffy.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our website, product flows, providers, or legal obligations.
When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date on this page.
7. Contact
If you have questions about our use of cookies or similar technologies, please contact us at support@riffy.app.
